In many countries, small and medium-sized ships have to use slideways or floating docks to launch, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive and expensive. Our self-innovated airbag launched, which perfectly solved this problem, and has been exported to many countries.


To sum up the launching of the ship's airbags in one sentence is: put several round airbags under the boat, and let the boat roll on the airbags to reach the water. This launching method is an innovative technology of China's independent intellectual property rights. The tonnage of the launched ships has ranged from a few hundred tons to tens of thousands of tons. It is called "flexible launching technology", which perfectly solves the problem that medium and small ships must use slideway to launch, it saves the shipyard the cost of building a dock and launching slideways.



The marine launching airbag is made of natural rubber and nylon cord as raw materials.The innermost layer of the airbag is made of a mixture of natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber. To ensure high elasticity and high air tightness, the glue content should reach about 60%. The outermost material is a mixture of natural rubber, cis-butadiene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber, which is rough in appearance but tough in texture. Because it has to be squeezed by a 10,000-ton ship, it must be wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, compression-resistant, and anti-aging. The middle layer of the airbag is its skeleton, using a very strong rope, the breaking strength is at least 205.8N/piece.There must be at least 90 such threads in 10 cubic centimeters, so that they are closely arranged to ensure the strength of the airbag, because it is the skeleton of the entire airbag and must be strong.



The tip of the head of the air bag is its mouth, which is used for inflation and deflation, and is generally made of stainless steel or galvanized cast steel. The connection between the mouth of the bag and the main body is also very important. Generally, imported high-strength special rubber adhesives are used to stick together, so as to ensure that there is no problem in being squeezed by a 10,000-ton ship. 


Ships launched with airbags usually have a tonnage below DWT100,000 tons, and D.W.T. indicates the load capacity that the ship can use. The width of the launching water area should be at least 1.5 times the length of the hull. Before launching, the launching ramp should be cleaned to remove sharp stones and nails to prevent the air bag from being punctured when it is under great pressure.


Because of the low inflation pressure of the airbag, it can still roll after large deformation. First, lift the boat from the pier with the lifting airbag, then put it on the airbag, and use the steel cable to pull and roll the airbag, so that the boat can slide slowly into the water. 



The advantages are obvious, it is less restricted by the site and does not require large mechanical equipment. Traditional slides and underwater engineering are very expensive. The airbag launch only needs a slope, even a dirt road, which saves a lot of money.


This kind of airbag can not only be launched into the water but also go ashore, that is, the airbag can pull the boat ashore. When the boat needs to go ashore for maintenance, this technology is simple and saves money.

The principle is: when the tide is high, let the boat close to the shore, when the tide is low, it is close to the stranded bow position, put in the air bag and inflate the bow.  Using the winch to pull the boat forward, more airbags can be placed at the bottom of the hull, and finally the whole hull is lifted, so that it can go ashore. After landing, the bottom of the ship is put into the support pier, the airbag is deflated, and the ship falls on the support pier.
