If customers no special requirements, for long time operation, we offer as:
--For water lubricating type of stern shaft, Sinooutput usually choose the 304# stainless steel shaft with carbon steel tube and couplings, flanges etc. The carbon steel tube will be more strength then other materials. But for the salty area, that is a problem. Before offer we will check the buyer application position to select the correct materials for them, to think more and to do more that will help customers more.
--For oil lubricating type of stern shaft Sinooutput usually use the shaft with 316# stainless steel shaft 316# stainless steel tube and couplings, flanges etc. That will be expensive for the materials firstly. Because the salty area such as Maldives, they no other method to choose. It is expensive also because of the sealing unit, even one sealing price is USD500-600 or more. And of course it using life is more longer. And if you are an oil tanker or a luxury yacht/curies, do you consider a fishing boat stern shaft for it, of course not.
Then now you will ask what is the difference for water lubricating and oil lubricating shaft?
Re--Cost:
--Water lubricating stern shaft is more cheaper because of the materials, and inner tube is by plants packing, it should do maintain and change shortly.
--Oil lubricating stern shaft is a little expensive because of the stainless steel materials.
Re--Maintenance:
--water lubricating should change bearing and inside packages.
--Oil lubricating should change some sealing units.
Re--Application:
--water lubricating stern shaft is high requirements for the water, the water must by very clean, in case some sand come to inner shaft wear it.
--Lubricating stern shaft is no water condition requirements even more salty or ore duty sea or river.
Re--Living time:
--oil lubricating stern shaft is more using time than water lubricating.
Re--Worry:
--Water lubricating shaft needs additional water pump for supplying the water into inner shaft.
--Oil lubricating will worry about the sea pollution problem.

Sinooutput is CCS standard to manufacture stern shaft and propeller, we could design as customer given information or the boat information, we are more serious for the shipbuilding each parts, for the propeller, if you are not sure which one is more suitable for your boats, please kindly contact us for the fill of“propeller design necessary datas”
And When the order confirmed, we will firstly send you the drawings to confirm, if all not problem, we will manufacture as the drawings.
Marine propeller materials:
Propeller we mainly do by materials as bronze CU1, CU2, CU3, CU4, nearly all customers will choose CU1, CU3, CU4,
and 66.28% choose CU1,
20.10% choose CU3,
9.80% choose CU4,
the others will choose stainless steel etc.
Bronze CU1=Manganese bronze, anti-rust performance is active,
Bronze CU2=Nickel manganese bronze, similar as CU1.
Bronze CU3=Nickel Aluminum Bronze, CU3 anti-rust is more longer, and long using life than CU4
Bronze CU4=Manganese aluminum bronze, higher strength, enough hardness, more anti-friction
